Ingredients

  • 115 g unsalted butter 4 oz/ ½ cup, soft
  • 75 g sugar 2.6 oz/ ⅓ cup
  • 90 g sweetened condensed milk 3 oz/ ⅓ cup
  • 175 g flour 6 oz/ 1 ½ cup
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • teaspoon baking soda

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit/ 180 degrees Celsius. Line two baking trays with baking paper.
  • Batter: Beat the soft butter and the sugar until creamy. Add the condensed milk and combine well.
In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and baking soda. Add to the butter mixture and stir until just combined.
  • Form small balls about the size of a walnut. Place on the prepared baking trays.
  • Top: Lightly press the toppings on top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 12 minutes until only lightly golden.
  • Let cool: Remove the trays from the oven and let the cookies rest for about 5 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

  1. Use a digital kitchen scale to measure the ingredients when baking; it guarantees for best results.
  2. Use as much as you need to top the cookies.
  3. Either sweet, semi-sweet, or dark chocolate chips or chopped chocolate. Alternatives: chopped walnuts, pecans or macadamia nuts, white chocolate chips, raisins, or other chopped dried fruit.
  4. The toppings can also be stirred into the batter; in this case, you can use a slightly larger amount.
