Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 lb frozen meatballs 450 g
  • 1-2 teaspoons oil

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 390°F/ 200°C if required by its instruction manual (check). I preheat my air fryer for 3 minutes.
  • Place the frozen meatballs in the air fryer’s basket in a single layer.
  • Coat with oil: Pour the oil into the palm of your hand, rub your hands first, and then toss the meatballs to coat them with oil. You can also brush them, but it takes longer and uses more oil.
  • Air fry the frozen meatballs for 10 minutes, flipping them halfway through cooking (Notes 1,2).
  • Sauce (optional): Place them in a bowl, pour about ½ cup of your favorite sauce on top, and toss gently (Note 2).

Notes

  1. Cooking time: Standard-size meatballs need 10 minutes. Mini-meatballs might be ready after 5-6 minutes already, while large ones might need up to 12-13 minutes. Make sure you check: cut one in the middle; it should be really hot inside.
  2. Don’t overcook them, or they will become hard and dry.
  3. Sauce: BBQ, teriyaki, sweet and sour, sweet chili, buffalo sauce, etc.
