Ingredients

  • 1 lb asparagus
  • 1-2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves grated
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

Instructions

  • Clean the asparagus, pat it dry and snap off the woody ends. Use the ends to make asparagus stock.
    1 lb asparagus
  • Cut the asparagus into pieces, about 1.5-2.5 inches/ 4-5 cm long.
  • Saute: Heat the olive oil in a cast-iron skillet or another large pan. Add the asparagus and fry it, stirring often, for about 3-4 minutes.
    1-2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Sauce: In the meantime, grate the garlic and the ginger and place them into a small bowl. Add the soy sauce and the Worcestershire sauce. Stir well.
2 garlic cloves + 1 tablespoon grated ginger + 2 tablespoons soy sauce + 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Add the sauce to the pan and continue cooking, stirring all the time, for about 2 minutes or until the asparagus is done to your liking. It should definitely still retain a good bite.
  • Stir in the sesame oil and serve immediately.
    1 teaspoon sesame oil
